Spokane motocross and off-road riding areas
This section of FourStroke.net is dedicated to the local riders and racers in the Inland Northwest area. For those that are unfamiliar with the area, we have some of the best trails you could imagine, a terrific Motocross/Supercross racing complex, and two ORV parks within a few minutes drive of downtown Spokane.
Trails
If you like riding single-track trails through the woods, we have some great areas around Spokane. Some of the best include Batey-Bould, above the Little Pend Oreille river, Radar Dome, just outside of Collville, and Cannfield Mountain, minutes north of Cour d'Alane. All of these areas off a variety of riding from smooth and easy, to rocks and roots technical festivals.
Motocross/Supercross
Airway Heights is the home a Spokane Raceway Park and our local track. The track is run by Extreme Motorsports Productions, with a full time staff that keeps the track in shape by regularly mulching in fresh dirt, and watering (with the help of a sprinkler system) to keep the dust down. It's open for practice Thursday - Sunday ($20/day) any time there isn't an event. With Motocross races during the days, and Supercross racing during the nights, there's something for everyone at this great facility. The track itself is easy enough for beginners to roll around, yet also sports some challenging step-ups, long table-tops and a gnarly whoops section that's followed by a big triple. For more information and complete practice and event schedule visit the Extreme Motorpsorts website.
ORV Parks
There are two Off-Road Vehicle parks just a few minutes from downtown. 7-mile is just north of town. It's a big park with some trails through the trees, a big open sandy bowl with some fun hill-climbs, and a couple of little natural motocross tracks if you know where to look. 7-mile is a part of Riverside State Park, so it has a big parking lot, decent restroom facilities, a loading dock, park benches in the grass, and BBQ grills.
On a smaller scale is the ORV park at Liberty Lake. The parking lot is small and so is the single restroom, but there are some fun little trails on this hillside above the lake.
